Rodent Control Services

Hearing scratching noises or movement in your walls or ceiling? Finding chewed items around your home (and you don’t have pets)? Spotting the occasional mouse dropping? These signs are typically the first indication that you may have a rodent issue.

Rodent Control
Rodent Control Services in the Lakes Region and Central New Hampshire

Rodents typically enter buildings around the foundation, under the siding, through openings around AC units, and via vents or rooflines. Rodents can also be found in sheds, pool houses, air conditioning units, generators, garages, and storage areas. Their droppings can spread bacteria which transmit several different diseases, contaminating food sources and triggering allergic reactions.

To reduce the risk of rodents in your home:

  • Eliminate potential food sources. Don’t leave food out on counters and be sure to securely close all containers in pantries and cabinets.

  • Trim all overgrowth around your home.

  • Confirm your foundation is visible and clean from debris.

  • Seal any possible entry points around the foundation, vents, windows, doorways, and roofline.

  • Ensure your property is free from trash and decomposing materials.

If your DIY or prevention measures are not keeping rodents from invading your home, contact Winni Pest Solutions for a free pest inspection. We serve clients throughout Belknap, Carroll, Grafton, and parts of Coos county.

Common Rodents Found in New Hampshire

  • House Mice are the most common species found in homes because they adapt to human resources. They nest in dark spaces, walls, attics, and basements, and they will eat food scraps. House mice are typically two- to three-inches long and are gray with a pointed nose.

  • White Footed Mice are six- to eight-inches long, big-eared, and white-footed. They nest in walls, ceiling, attic, basements, and under kitchen cabinets.

  • Norway Rats are seven- to eight-inches long, brown or gray with small ears, and have slanted noses. They can nest in attics, walls, basements, on floors near the kitchen, or under cabinets.

  • Roof Rats are six- to eight-inches long and have black or brown fur with big ears and pointed noses. They can nest in attics, walls, basements, on floors near the kitchen, or under cabinets.

Rodent Control Treatment Program

Our professional pest control specialists will thoroughly inspect your property, noting signs of rodent activity, entry points, and conditions that may contribute to infestation. From this information, we’ll be able to identify the rodent species causing the issue.

We will then discuss our inspection and answer any questions you may have regarding treatment options, products, methods, techniques, and cost. Depending on the rodent species we find and the severity of the infestation, our rodent control treatment service may vary. We typically use rodenticides to control rodents, such as rats and mice. If future preventive treatments are agreed upon, we’ll routinely treat according to our rodent control plan.

It’s important to understand that pest control is not a one-time solution, but rather a process that may require multiple treatments and ongoing maintenance to achieve long-term results. You’ll usually notice less rodent activity within two weeks. Sometimes extra baiting is required for better results.
