Spider Control Services

Although spiders are beneficial in nature as they help control insect and pest populations, we generally don’t like seeing them in our homes.

Spider removal services in New Hampshire
Spider Control Services in the Lakes Region and Central New Hampshire

Did you know there are 36 species of spiders found in New Hampshire? Spider webs are typically the first indication that you may have an overabundance of spiders around your home. You might even notice their egg sacs or see a dreaded spider on the wall! To reduce the risk of spiders in your home, here are some measures you can take:

  • Control your basement humidity with the use of a dehumidifier.

  • Remove any webs found on the exterior of your home.

If your DIY or prevention measures are not keeping spiders from invading your home, contact Winni Pest Solutions for a free pest inspection. We serve clients throughout Belknap, Carroll, Grafton, and parts of Coos county.

Common Spiders Found in New Hampshire

  • Wolf Spiders are found everywhere in any habitat. They do not web to catch prey. Instead, they wait for prey to walk by and chase them down. If provoked they can bite and cause itching, swelling, and mild pain, but their venom is not dangerous to humans.

  • Cellar Spiders are most commonly seen in your basement. They web and catch prey this way and they are known to be good to have around as they hunt down and kill venomous spiders.

  • Daring Jumping Spiders can jump 50 times their body length! They are commonly found in fields and grassy areas; however, they can find themselves on the outside walls of structures. They make webs to protect their eggs.

  • Furrow Spiders are attracted to moist places and often porches and corners of homes. They make a new web every night and eat their web every morning. If disturbed they can bite, but rarely do. Their bite causes mild pain.

  • Black and Yellow Garden Spiders can be found outside your home in a large, two-foot web. They are not aggressive, but will bite if provoked. Their bite may feel like a bee sting.

  • Woodlouse Spiders are typically found outside in damp or dark areas, but they can be found anywhere their prey is. Woodlouse spiders prey on woodlice, pillbugs, earwigs, and silverfish. They have been known to bite humans, but the worst outcome is the area may be itchy.

  • Common House Spiders are found near people and often in garages. Many people appreciate this spider species because it feeds on other insects in your home, such as ants, mosquitoes, and flies. They can bite, but their venom is not dangerous.

  • Zebra Jumping Spiders are often found outside near rocks and tree trunks. They can also be found near humans on walls of buildings or in window sills. They do not create webs to capture prey, instead they hunt with their incredible eyesight.

  • Broad-Faced Sac Spiders are typically found in window sills or crevices around homes. They are more commonly seen inside as the weather gets colder. They are not considered dangerous, but their bite is quite painful due to their large fangs.

  • Northern Yellow Sac Spiders are often seen inside homes and they will bite humans for no reason. Bites from them are painless.

Spider Control Treatment Program

Our professional pest control specialists will thoroughly inspect your property and identify the spider species causing the issue. Depending on the spider species we find and the severity of the infestation, our spider control treatment service may vary.

We typically start by removing webs up to fifteen-feet high on the exterior of your home. We then spray the outside of your home around the foundation and up to eighteen inches in width of doors, windows, and all eaves. For best results, we recommend performing this twice per year. If spiders are an issue inside your home, we will spot treat cracks and crevices inside.

We use a variety of products and tools to address spider infestations, including sprayers, cobwebbers, and inspection tools. No two spider infestations are the same; therefore, the time it takes to eliminate a spider infestation can vary. It’s important to understand that pest control is not a one-time solution, but rather a process that may require multiple treatments and ongoing maintenance to achieve long-term results.
