Stink Bug Control Services

Stink bugs typically make their way into a home through window sills, doors, and vents. Though stink bugs are harmless to humans, they’re known to cause damage to crops and gardens as they feed on a wide variety of plants.

Notice something slowly moving outside of your windows or on the exterior of your home? Has something sinister-looking made its way inside the window and won’t leave? These nuisance creatures are known as stink bugs. They don’t stink all the time, but if you disturb, aggravate, or crush them, they’ll release their spray (an unpleasant odor) as a defense mechanism.

To reduce the risk of stink bugs around your home, or in your gardens, here are some measures you can take:

  • Regularly inspect the outside of your home for evidence of stink bugs.

  • Check for potential entry points into your home (e.g., doors, windows, holes, or gaps in your siding) and ensure they’re properly sealed.

  • Trim any shrubs, bushes, or other vegetation around the home to keep stink bugs from gathering in those areas.

If your DIY or prevention measures are not keeping stink bugs from invading your home, contact Winni Pest Solutions for a free pest inspection. We serve clients throughout Belknap, Carroll, Grafton, and parts of Coos county.

Common Stink Bugs Found in New Hampshire

Did you know there are eight different species of stink bugs found in New Hampshire? Here’s some information about our most common stink bugs:

  • Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs are known to be the biggest pest in New Hampshire. They live in gardens, parks, and fields until the weather changes to cooler temperatures and they begin to seek shelter in warm spaces.

  • Green Burgundy Stink Bugs typically live in trees and shrubs during the warmer months and also seek shelter when the seasons change.

  • Rough Stink Bugs eat many different plants and crops, even corn, apples, and soybeans. They’ll infest crops up to 40 feet from the edge of the field! Since they prefer warmer weather, they may move into your home come late fall.

  • Spined Soldier Bugs are beneficial as they eat many other nasty bugs that are harmful to gardens.
