Alpha Omega Wildlife Control
Our sister company, Alpha Omega Wildlife Control, was established in 2001. For more than 20 years, Alpha Omega Wildlife Control has served as experts in the humane removal of nuisance animals from New Hampshire homes and businesses.
From beginning to end, Alpha Omega’s wildlife control technicians not only remove the critters, but repair the damage, clean up the mess, and prevent the issue from happening again.
How Do I Know If I Have a Wildlife Problem?
There are several signs that can indicate the presence of wildlife in or around your home. Unusual sounds, such as scratching, scurrying or chewing coming from your walls, attic, or crawl space can suggest critters are present. Dropping or feces are clear signs of wildlife activity.
Wildlife, such as rodents and raccoons may cause damage to your home’s structure, wires, insulation, or household items as they search for food and shelter. Nests or burrows are often built in or around the home in hidden areas. Unusual pet behavior (e.g., sniffing or staring at walls or ceilings) could also indicate wildlife is present. Strong and persistent odors may also indicate wildlife within your home.
How Did They Find Their Way Into My Home?
Critters can find their way into your home through multiple entry points, using their agility, climbing skills, size, and ability to dig or chew. Squirrels can simply squeeze through small openings, such as gaps in the roofline, vents, or damaged areas of the building. Raccoons can rip apart gable end vents, remove flashing, and even lift and remove sections of roofing.
Chimneys are the largest hole in your roof system and are a common place for raccoons, birds, squirrels, and merganser ducks to enter. Entry around the flashing or straight down the flue can happen. A flying squirrel can enter through an opening the size of your thumb!
Most houses have numerous natural openings, especially around roof transitions and dormers. Often no chewing is required for a flying squirrel to gain access to a cozy, rent-free home. Larger squirrels, like gray and red squirrels, will use these smaller openings and simply chew a more desirable entry hole. Gable end vents are an easy access point as they are built to vent air through your roof system and are often screened with only a fiberglass screen to keep insects out. This screen is easily chewed open, providing access to a warm and predator-free home.
Common Wildlife Found in New Hampshire
Wild animals have learned to adapt to urban sprawl as rural lands become developed. The loss of habitat disrupts wildlife populations and reduces resources such as food, water, and shelter.
It is common to find raccoons, skunks, porcupines, opossums, foxes, and even coyotes living in burrows under decks, sheds, tree houses, and swing sets.
